There is currently one vacancy on the board of directors following the 2017 Annual General meeting failing to elect the required number of directors.In line with the constitution, Quidditch Australia is seeking to appoint a director to fill this vacancy; the term for the appointed director will be until the 2018 Annual General Meeting.
The Board of Quidditch Australia consists of seven independently elected, or appointed in the case of a casual vacancy, directors who are collectively responsible for the good governance of QA. The board represents the highest level of governance within Australia, responsible for establishing policy, maintaining the association’s finances, running events, advocating on the sport’s behalf, managing members, and undertaking all other duties as necessary for the facilitation of the sport of quidditch in Australia.
The appointed directors would work alongside the current six directors on a fixed-term basis until the next Annual General Meeting. The Board operates on a portfolio based governance structure, whereby each director is primarily responsible for one area of the organisation’s responsibilities. Please ensure you include what portfolio or area you are interested in filling in your application.
