Volunteer with QA

Quidditch Australia is run entirely by volunteers – including our Board of Directors!

We’re always on the lookout for more people to join our team and ensure we give our members a fantastic Quidditch experience.

No matter what your skill set, you have something to contribute! All you need is a bit of spare time and a passion for the sport!

Moving into 2019, we are seeking applications for the following roles;

 

Writers, Copy Editors & Content Creators for QA Today 

Looking at QA Today and angry that it doesn’t feature enough news from your neck of the woods? Or would like to assist with the direction of the newsletter? Don’t worry if you’re not a MECO student or have never written anything before: if you’ve got a flair for writing, or just have great ideas on what would make for an entertaining story, then we’d love to have you aboard! Not a writer? We are open to the creation of a variety of content as well as seeking copy editors, with the aim of putting out an addition of QA Today monthly.

Expected workload: 1 – 2 hours weekly

 

Graphic Designer 

Quidditch Australia is seeking a graphic designer or team of designers to lead the way in the visual marketing and creation of logos and promotional material for Quidditch Australia events, initiatives and the website. Access to your own design software is highly recommended.

Expected workload: 1 hour weekly, however possibly stacked closer to event launches and less around quite periods.

 

Website Manager 

Interested in maintaining our website? We are seeking an individual or team to act as a website manager, ensuring all web content is kept up to date and assisting media team members and other departments to get their content uploaded. Experience with WordPress would be highly regarded.

QA Gameplay Committee

The Gameplay committee is seeking new members for the 2019 season. Responsibilities of the committee include officiating and the development of national gameplay policy. Roles include coordinating referee certifications. snitching certifications, development of gameplay rules and fixturing for QA events, handling player transfers and the formulation of policies and procedures. More details regarding the breakdown of the proposed roles can be found here; however, these are subject to change upon the appointment of the committee.

Gender Initiatives & Engagement Officer 

New to Quidditch Australia in 2019, the Gender Initiatives and Engagement Officer facilitates a role dedicated to the engagement of minority genders in the quidditch community, developing initiatives to bridge gaps created by gender, and facilitate the aims of Quidditch Australia and the sport of quidditch as a mixed gendered sport.

The responsibilities of this role are a guideline and are open for development as the role is new to QA in 2019. Quidditch Australia would like to thank Courtney Buckley for her assistance in drafting the responsibilities of the role.
